The metro expansion programme for 2007-2011 includes the following projects:
L-11: La Peseta - La Fortuna:
1.5 km, 1 station (opening spring 2010)
L-2: La Elipa - Las Rosas:
4.5 km, 4 stations (first station in an area known as Barrio de Bilbao (La Almudena cemetery), the second at Plaza Alsacia, the third at the road intersection Guadalajara/Vicálvaro, and the fourth on Paseo Ginebra) - (under construction)
L-9: Herrera Oria - Mirasierra:
2 km, 2 stations (future terminus providing interchange with Cercanías in the future) - (under construction)
L-3: Villaverde Alto - El Casar:
2.5 km, 1 station (interchange with MetroSur) (planned)
Also new lines of 'Metro ligero' are planned:
Puerta de Hierro - Majadahonda - Las Rozas (10 km)
Tram in Valdemoro (3.5 km), located about 25 km south of Madrid, and 10 km southeast of Parla.
Cercanías line C-5 is to be extended from Móstoles to Navalcarnero (14.5 km)
