Line U5 is currently
under construction from Rathaus to Frankhplatz - Altes AKH, while the section
between Rathaus and Karlsplatz will be taken over from the existing line U2
when U5 starts service as a driverless metro.
By 2024, the existing stations had been equipped with platform screen doors.
